Today, I’m in the mood to write in English.
I speak English with foreign guests, and sometimes with other Kashiwaya Staff members. But nowadays most of the time I only speak Japanese.
Recently I even find myself looking up the English translation of Japanese words a lot… I think I need to use English more!
Anyway, have you ever heard people say that a person’s personality changes based on the language they are speaking? For example someone might be funny in Japanese, but serious in English.
Former staff member Andy「寺澤アンドリュウさん」 was a perfect example of this. He was fluent in both English and Japanese, and felt like a totally different person depending on which one he was using. When he spoke Japanese, he was always very polite and proper. But when he spoke English, he was soooo casual. He liked to use a lot of words I can’t post on this blog (笑). It’s a shame the other staff members of Kashiwaya never saw this side of him.
I also speak with Rikako「理香子さん」 in English sometimes. She has an Australian accent which I love! When she speaks Japanese, she has a “cute” way of speaking, whereas when she speaks English she’s more “cool”.
I hear rumors that Yuho 「佐藤さん」is really good at English, but he never speaks English with me no matter how much I ask, so I don’t know what he’s like T.T
For me, I’ve been told I’m pretty much the same in both English and Japanese. I wonder what people reading this blog think?

今日は英語で書く気分です。
英語は海外のお客様と英語できる柏屋スタッフの人と時々話していますが、四万温泉に来てからほぼ日本語しか話していません。
最近、携帯で日本語の言葉を英語に訳すことも増えてきました…もっと英語を使わないといけないですね！
とにかく、人の性格が話している言語によって変わるということを聞いたことがありますか？例えばある人が日本語で話す時は面白いのに、英語で話す時は真面目な性格になります。
元スタッフアンディさんは完全にそういう感じです。英語も日本語も流暢ですが、使っている言語によってはまるで別人のようです。日本語で話す時は、いつも丁寧で礼儀正しい人ですね。英語で話しているアンディさんはその反対で、とってもカジュアルな人ですよ。このブログでは書けない言葉を沢山使いますし(笑)。他の柏屋スタッフがアンディさんのその面が分からないことがとても残念です。
理香子さんとも英語で話します。理香子さんのオーストラリア英語が大好きです。日本語で話すと、可愛い理香子さんが英語で話すとちょっとかっこいい雰囲気が出てきます。
佐藤さんの英語がとても上手という噂を聞いていますが、いくらお願いしても話してくれないので英語の佐藤さんはどんな人かわかりませんT.T
私なのですが、性格は日本語でも英語でもほぼ一緒だと言われます。このブログを読んでくださる方はいかが思うでしょうか。
